Help your Club achieve their goal - a brand new, state-of-the-art AED!
Every club selected to fundraise for an AED through the Mrs. Brown's Boys FAI Heart Care Programme will be given a grant of €1250 towards their target of €2,500 and a FAI bespoke AED package. The programme aims to ensure that everyone playing football in Ireland is within 3 minutes of a lifesaving AED.

What is an AED?
Defibrillation and Sudden Cardiac Arrest
An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a sophisticated, life saving device that can help save the life of someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. They are easy to use and portable. When applied, an AED automatically checks the heart’s rhythm. If it recognises a life-threatening rhythm, the AED enables the user to deliver a shock to the heart which will allow it to return to beating normally. If a life-threatening rhythm is not detected, the AED will not permit a shock to be delivered.

In September 2019, Ireland manager Stephen Kenny suffered a cardiac arrest while travelling with the U21s through Stokholm airport. "I wasn't feeling well, and I just collapsed. I've been informed since that Damien Doyle [performance coach] did CPR while the doctor got the defibrillator. Looking at Christian Eriksen's situation, I got flashbacks and saw the impact it had on the people around me. It was very traumatic, very vivid. Luckily, I had people around me: staff, my colleagues and friends" he said.
